G Love and Special Sauce

info:

Ok, we know we're going out on a long freaking limb here, but you can't not put this guy on the website. In the 90's, G Love apparently toured in an 1930's Ford pick up truck, playing shows off the back, probably selling lemonade out of a vintage cooler. The guy is obsessed with the blues, which makes sense, but much like a ska, surf, rockabilly, mod, or any genrefied band aspiring for authenticity, the results are usually closer to a PT Cruiser than a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air. However, Cold Beverage gets a pass strictly based on the subject matter. Cold Beverage gets G Love a seat next to the pantheon. Cold Beverage gets G Love on to the Can't Hardly Wait soundtrack. If nothing else, Cold Beverage should signal to musicians the same way the Great Pyramid of Giza signals to architects: START with a great idea: a song about cold drinks/a massive triangle in the desert. All the chords, melodies, hooks, harmonies, phrasings, lyrics, arrangements, tone, recording, mixing, mastering, marketing, and promotion will follow with absolute ease. [DB]
